Refund Policy

At Century Document Services, LLC we strive for client satisfaction. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds may be issued for our notary services and entity formation services.

Please review this policy carefully before purchasing our services.

1. General Policy

  • All refund requests must be made in writing via email to info@centurydocs.com or through our designated contact form.

  • Refunds, if issued, will typically be processed within 7-10 business days to the original method of payment.

  • Please note that state filing fees and other third-party costs are generally non-refundable once they have been paid to the respective government agencies or third parties.

2. Notary Services

Notary services involve the immediate performance of a professional act as soon as the notary begins the process (e.g., verifying identity, reviewing documents, administering oaths).

  • No Refunds After Service Rendered: Once a notary service has been successfully completed, including the identity verification, document review, administration of oath/acknowledgment, and application of the notary's seal and signature, the service fee is non-refundable. This is because the notary's professional duty has been discharged.

  • Refunds Before Service: If you cancel a notary appointment or service request before the notary has begun the notarial act (e.g., before the scheduled appointment time or before the notary begins reviewing your documents if an online service), a full refund of any pre-paid service fees may be issued.

  • Refusal of Service: If our notary public refuses to notarize a document due to:

1.  Lack of proper identification

2.  Doubt regarding the signer's identity or capacity

3.  Missing pages or incomplete documents

4.  A document that appears to be fraudulent or illegal

5.  Any other reason permitted or required by Florida notary law

...then a partial refund may be issued, reflecting the time and effort expended by the notary (e.g., travel fees for mobile notary, initial review time for online notary). Any non-refundable portion will be clearly communicated by the notary at the time of refusal.

3. Entity Formation Services

Our entity formation services involve steps that begin upon your engagement and submission of information.

  • Refunds Before Filing (Initial Review/Preparation Phase):

  • If you cancel your entity formation service request before we have commenced the preparation of your filing documents and before any state fees or third-party fees have been incurred, you may be eligible for a full refund of our service fees.

  • If you cancel after we have begun preparing your documents but before they have been submitted to the state, a partial refund may be issued. This partial refund will be the total service fee paid, minus a reasonable administrative/processing fee $50 or 25% of service fee to cover the time and resources spent on document preparation, review, and consultation.

  • No Refunds After Filing:

  • Once your entity formation documents have been submitted to the relevant state or federal agency (e.g., Secretary of State, IRS for EIN), our service fee for the primary filing is non-refundable. This is because our service has been rendered in preparing and submitting the documents on your behalf.

  • State Filing Fees and Third-Party Costs are Non-Refundable: Any fees paid by us to state agencies (e.g., filing fees, expedited processing fees) or other third-party service providers (e.g., registered agent services, compliance packages) on your behalf are non-refundable once they have been incurred or paid by Century Document Services, LLC. We cannot recover these fees from the government or third parties.

  • Rejection by State: If your entity formation documents are rejected by the state due to an error on our part, we will promptly correct and re-file the documents at no additional service charge to you. We will not refund our service fee if the rejection is due to incomplete or inaccurate information provided by you, or due to state processing issues outside of our control.

  • Optional Services: Fees for optional services purchased (e.g., EIN application, operating agreements, compliance kits) are generally non-refundable once the service or product has been delivered or the associated work has begun.
